Two product announcements from Louisville Slugger, and if you like full creative liberties with the latest MLB-grade lumber, you’re going to appreciate this. Louisville Slugger has announced a new Prime line that features EXO ARMOR, “a finish that doubles the surface hardness of the bat, creating superior feel and unmatched sound on contact.”
Louisville Slugger also announced that they’ll launch a CUSTOM BAT BUILDER in May, which you might assume is going to follow Wilson’s winning recipe.
You’ll notice the new PRIME bats sport a new logo, Slugger’s interlocking “LS” shield, which you may have already noticed in Spring Training.
We saw Paulo Orlando hit a dead-center missile with his Prime B425.
Here you can see a couple of D. Wright’s W310 bats, as well as a Grandy M110. The logos are a nice touch.
Every Birch and Maple PRIME bat carries the Ink Dot, which indicates that it meets MLB’s straightness of grain requirements. The PRIME line will be available for retail purchase in early May.
Also in early May, Louisville Slugger will launch their all-new custom bat design platform, where you’ll be able to design your own Prime bat. Sign up below for WPW email updates for more info and images, and in the meantime let us know if the custom builder makes you more likely to swing Louisville. I’m curious to know your opinion because I’m not really sure how I feel.
