Brandon Moss kicked around the Bigs for his first five seasons, being taken out with the trash a couple of times before getting a shot with the A’s in the Spring of 2012.  He was cut (despite hitting over .500) that Spring and sent to AAA Sacramento, where he proceeded to hit a home run every 13 ABs, eventually bullying his way into the A’s every day lineup.  The cavernous Oakland Coliseum still could not contain Moss, as he bettered his AB/HR rate with the Big Club to a McGwire-esque 12.6.  Moss’ ascendancy to becoming one of the most dangerous hitters in baseball coincides seamlessly with Oakland becoming a contender.  Since his arrival, they’ve got the best record in baseball (222-135, .622 win pct).  Quite simply he’s the anchor of the highest scoring offense in baseball (as of 7.8.14).
