Fernando Tatis Jr. Signs with Mizuno, Here’s His New Glove

Fernando Tatis Jr. has signed with Mizuno Sports.

Top Mizuno Shortstops Didi Gregorius, Andrelton Simmons, Nick Ahmed, and Tatis Jr.

Fernando Tatis Jr., formerly an SSK glove guy, joins fellow premier defensive shortstops that wear Mizuno gloves, including back-to-back defending NL Gold Glover Nick Ahmed, 5-time Gold Glover Andrelton Simmons, and Didi Gregorius.

Indications are that Fernando Tatis Jr. will wear a glove similar to the one above (filmed at Mizuno’s Haga, Japan pro glove factory).

Its a Mizuno Pro Series GMP2-600R, and while the video shows a one-piece web (the same as Tatis’ old SSK), Tatis has been favoring the stock T-Web with Mizuno.

He has been wearing it in tan and black. Tatis’ glove is available for $350 at Baseball Express (tan), Dick’s Sporting Goods (tan) or (black), and JustBallgloves (tan).

Tatis’ trust in the stock model is a really good sign for anyone considering a Mizuno Pro model since the leather will be the exact same. Tatis’ glove size is 11.75″ inches.

You can shop Tatis’ glove at Dick’s Sporting Goods (tan) or (black), Baseball Express, and JustBallgloves.com for $350.

  1. Love the Mizuno Pro. I have several Rawlings Hear of the Hide’s, Pro Preferred and Wilson A2000’s and the Mizuno is the most comfortable glove that’s ever been on my hand. The US kip leather was my choice over the European leather that Simmons uses, I know now Tatis and DiDi also is the US kip. Great leather and super light and looks amazing!

  2. Thanks for the comment and great insights, Jeff!
