Being anywhere near the rim with the ball in the air is dangerous when playing against an Anthony Davis team. Enes Kanter learned that the hard way when his New York Knicks played the New Orleans Pelicans.
On this play, Davis was setting an off-ball screen to get teammate Darius Miller free to receive the ball. When Miller got the rock, Anthony immediately rushed the rim. A lob pass was then thrown with Enes Kanter getting lost in the lights. The Brow proceeded to fly over Kanter’s back, using his long arm to throw down a right handed dunk, with the foul. All Kanter could do was hold the ball in disbelief at what just happened.
The shoes Davis was wearing in this moment was the Nike Kobe AD, which dropped in 2018. This was a departure for Anthony who typically wore bulkier, more supportive footwear. As the signature name suggests, the Kobe AD is a guard shoe, featuring a lightweight bootie construction. A bouncy Zoom Air unit is also added in the heel for responsiveness.
The navy blue and white colorway worn in this play was a Davis exclusive, but you can find other colorways of the Nike Kobe AD at StockX, Stadium Goods, and Flight Club.
