Giannis Antetokounmpo’s 7’3″ wingspan was bound to get him on the highlight reels. That was the case in a close game in 2017 against the Portland Trail Blazers. With the Blazers up 1 with the ball, guard C.J. McCollum tried to maneuver past the 3-point line with the shot clock and game clock below 10 seconds. C.J. had gotten past Giannis but the Greek Freak’s lanky arms made up ground and swiped the ball from behind. Milwaukee Bucks teammate Malcolm Brogdon picked up the scraps and threw a pass to the darting Antetokounmpo for the go-ahead game-winning dunk.
The sneakers Giannis rocked for this clutch moment was the 2017 Nike Kobe A.D. mid-top. This style is one of many to feature the “A.D.” name after Kobe Bryant retired, and features a large volume Zoom Air unit in the heel for extra responsiveness. The softer cushioning known as Lunarlon appears in the forefoot as well.
Giannis rocked the “Detached” colorway for this specific highlight, which can be found at StockX.
You can find all colorways of the Nike Kobe A.D. at StockX, Stadium Goods and Flight Club.
