Kevin Durant Hits Last Second Shot Against the Orlando Magic in the Nike KD 8 Shoes

One of many clutch moments in Kevin Durant’s career occurred in a February 2016 game between the Orlando Magic and Oklahoma City Thunder.

The Magic blew a last shot with the score tied 114 all, and Kevin Durant had the ball with 8 seconds remaining. Kevin methodically walked the ball up the court. Orlando Forward Tobias Harris squatted down anticipating a KD jumper. With 3 seconds left, Durant went between the legs left, before a fast dribble right that froze Harris. This gave the Slim Reaper just enough room to pull up feet behind the 3-point line. He rainbowed a shot over Tobias’ outstretched arms. The ball reached the bottom of the net with 00.5 on the clock, as the Chesapeake Energy Arena crowd went ballistic.

The sneakers Durant rocked for this play was the Nike KD 8. This shoe featured a Flyweave upper for instant comfort, with added durability compared to a knit. Instead of a traditional heel cup, “teeth” resembling a sabertooth tiger’s were used to provide stability. The sabertooth tiger is one of Durant’s favorite animals, which he has tattooed on his leg. Segmented full-length Zoom Air gave Kevin responsiveness for a quick first step, with the cut sections allowing for more flex to the shoe.

Kevin Durant rocked a white and blue player exclusive for this matchup, which was not made available to the public.

You can find the Nike KD 8 at StockX, Flight ClubStadium Goods, and GOAT.
