Top 10 NFL My Cause, My Cleats 2020 | Dalvin Cook, Kyler Murray, Stefon Diggs

During weeks 13 and 14 of the NFL season, the NFL celebrated “My Cause, My Cleats,” allowing players to wear custom cleats to support whatever cause they would like.

Some of the more popular causes are cancer awareness, social justice, youth initiatives, military, health and wellness, etc. These cleats are auctioned off to maximize support for these causes. Let’s take a look at some of the coolest custom cleats from this weekend and the artists that brought them to life.

Kyler Murray | Call of Duty Endowment | Nike Vapor Edge 360 Pro

For MCMC, Kyler has chosen to support Call of Duty Endowment which helps veterans secure high-quality jobs after serving in the military. Kyler chose to support this because it’s close to his family’s heart. Kyler’s grandfather on his mom’s side served in the Army and Navy. Kyler also loves the video game, Call of Duty. When it came to the design, Kyler’s Mom actually designed them and she didn’t hold back. Dominic Ciambrone (The Shoe Surgeon) did an insane job bringing her ideas to life. These even came with a custom hand-painted tactical case and custom dog tags. These cleats speak for themselves and were some of the hottest cleats from the MCMC weeks.

Stefon Diggs | American Heart Association | Nike Vapor Edge 360 Speed

Each season for MCMC, Stefon honors both his Dad and Grandmother by wearing cleats that support the American Heart Association. His Dad never got to see him play professional football due to heart complications that ended his life at 39, so Stefon honors him on his cleats. For the past 5 years, Diggs has hit up Mache, one of the best cleat customizers in the game, and this year’s plan was simple – “take the (American Heart Association) theme and evolve it to whatever Stef’s style is currently”. They went with a mix of the Comme Des Garcons with the American Heart Association logo. It came out incredible. This pair is the perfect balance of simple, swaggy and powerful.

Dalvin Cook | Vikings Table Food Truck | Nike Vapor Untouchable Pro 2

For 2020’s My Cause My Cleats, Dalvin Cook decided to support the Vikings Table Food Truck. They are a “food truck program with the mission of serving healthy meals and nutrition education to youth across the Greater Twin Cities area.” Cook, a 210 pound blend of power and speed, preaches the importance of eating healthy to perform at your best. The cleats themselves feature Cook wearing a Chef’s hat and the Vikings Table logo. These cleats are simple, stay true to the team’s colors, and support an important cause.

Logan Ryan | Ryan Animal Rescue Foundation | Nike Vapor Untouchable Pro 3

Logan Ryan chose his Ryan Animal Rescue Foundation. “RARF” is  “dedicated to supporting the animal community with financial and educational resources. They partner with animal welfare organizations around the country promoting adoption, offering grants and education to better the lives of animals”. The cleats created this year (by Kota Kustoms) are sick! On one cleat, a black and white Dalmatian print all over with a fuzzy tongue featuring one of the Dalmatians from the iconic 1996 movie, 101 Dalmatians. On the other, we have an orange cat print along with Garfield on the tongue. Another year, another incredible MCMC from Logan Ryan.

Patrick Mahomes | 15 and the Mahomies | Adidas Freak Ultra Primeknit

Patrick Mahomes has chosen to support his foundation, 15 and the Mahomies. Mahomes established this foundation in 2019 and it has been dedicated to improving the lives of children. Mahomes wants kids to “have the same opportunities that I got when I grew up”. The foundation “supports initiatives that focus on health, wellness, communities in need of resources and other charitable causes.”

To design these sweet cleats, some of the “Mahomies” came together with Adidas cleat designers to express their ideas. The cleat represents the hope for the future, being polite, positivity over negativity, respect, peace, unity, and diversity. The kids did an amazing job, the cleats look great and spread many important messages.

Stephon Gilmore | Daddy and Son | Jordan 12

This is one of the more powerful custom cleats on this list. Stephon GIlmore’s son, Sebastian, asked him, “Why do black lives matter, Dad?”, and Gilmore responded by putting his thoughts on paper, writing a letter to his son. For MCMC, Gilmore teamed up with Miami artist, Marcus Rivero (SolesbySir), to design cleats featuring this letter and some of his son’s drawings. The finished project is an incredibly meaningful pair of cleats that Gilmore intends to give to his son.

Steven Sims | BREM Foundation | Nike Vapor Edge 360 Pro

Steven Sims has chosen to support BREM for this year’s My Cause My Cleats. BREM is a breast cancer foundation that focuses on detecting cancer early and saving lives. Sims honors both his maternal grandmother, Dora Jackson and his paternal grandmother, Loubertha Sims on the side of his cleats. Sims said, “Ever since high school, I’ve always gone all out in October with all the pink and stuff for every game, so shout out to them.” Sims and Arts Undefined brought the heat this year with a mismatched pair (something Sims does often with his cleats). One cleat is pink, one is white, and both feature the Nike “swoosh” turning into a Breast Cancer Awareness ribbon.

Travis Kelce | 87 & Running | Nike Field General

Like teammate Patrick Mahomes, Kelce also has his own foundation to support the youth. 87 & Running focuses on helping underserved youth become productive citizens. The cleats are inspired by the Nike Air Uptempo. The cleats feature an all-white upper with the words “87 AND RUNNING” illustrated into the side. Kelce’s are another super clean pair that matches the team’s colors.

Jalen Hurts | Alex’s Lemonade | Under Armour Spotlight 2020

Rookie Jalen Hurts has chosen to support Alex’s Lemonade for his first ever My Cause My Cleats. This foundation supports child cancer research, raising awareness, helping families, and working to find a cure. Hurts called upon Marcus Rivero (SolesbySir) to bring these cleats to life. They feature an actual lemonade stand on the outside and a cut open lemon on the inside. A sweet (not-sour) pair of cleats for MCMC.

Darqueze Dennard | Dennard Difference | Nike Vapor Carbon Fly

Dennard is one of the many players with their own foundation to support for My Cause My Cleats. The Dennard Difference is a foundation focused on educational and athletic opportunities for kids, giving them a leg up and skills for the future. Just last year, Dennard gifted a family with nine children a renovated home. His cleats this year are black with a red checkerboard pattern and the Dennard Difference logo on the side; more great work from Arts Undefined. Also, that cleat model is one of Nike’s best, from 2012, so Dennard deserves some love for the throwback swag, too.
