Michael Jordan has been known to put big men on posters but in this instance, his Airness did it twice on the same player.
For the first jam, Mike led a three-on-two fast break against the Charlotte Hornets with Alonzo Mourning backpedaling to the paint. Michael and Scottie Pippen kept passing the ball back and forth without dribbling, which had Zo’s head spinning. Jordan received the last pass before raising up with a right-handed spike dunk over Mourning.
Pippen got the assist with the second poster as well, dropping the ball off on a backdoor cut. This time, MJ’s right-handed jam drew contact with Mike’s force pushing Alonzo backwards. Number 23 was so hyped that he primally screamed at Mourning who just looked away in embarrassment.
The shoe also was designed with features that were purely for aesthetics. TPU plates added to the medial and lateral sides above the midsole that often featured patterns and colors synonymous with the 90s. This (now) retro look also showed through on the fluffy, chenille circle surrounding the Jumpman logo on the tongue.
That white “Bugs Bunny” colorway that Mike played in this game can be found HERE.
