Aaron Judge in Prototype Adidas Cleats?

BASEBALL. IS. HAPPENING. RIGHT. NOW. I can’t describe the giddy schoolboy joy that flooded into my baseball soul, just to see this photo of Aaron Judge having a frickin’ catch. I have absolutely no idea if MLB is going to be able to pull off this season, but if they just want to run around on the field and take BP while Ryan Ruocco calls the practice, I’d watch.

While this photo would have been exciting even if Judge was wearing ballerina slippers, these adidas cleats look different and upon investigation, these are a hint at an upcoming release for adidas.

They look like a fresh take on Judge’s 2019 cleat of choice, the Icon Bounce V, and we contacted adidas to see what’s up with these…

Here’s what adidas had to say:

They’re a “special PE made for Judge to test out some new materials on his ICONs. It’s a little sneak peak at the Icon 6. Dropping later this year.”

First impression: Fire.

As for the colors, they’re actually just a mashup of excess materials, but apparently Judge is loving them. What do you think? If you’d like to shop previous models of Aaron Judge’s favorite, the Icon Bounce, get them at Dick’s and Baseball Express for very reasonable prices.

  1. Pretty cool seeing Aaron wearing Ethika socks on the field!

  2. I’d like to see some of these in boost.
