Since last season, Kyler Murray has been wearing the Nike Vapor Edge 360 Elite football cleats. He has worn them in a plethora of colorways – most recently this white/red/yellow pair. My first thought when I saw K1 wearing these was, “How is he getting away with wearing cleats with that much yellow? (The Cardinals uniforms are black/white/red)”. I assumed K1 would be fined for wearing cleats that don’t match the teams’ uniforms but then it hit me – The small beak in the Cardinals logo is yellow. That small splash of yellow allows Cardinals players to use that color on their gear. Kyler and the Nike design team took full advantage of that and the cleats really stand out on gameday.
The Nike Vapor Edge 360 Elite debuted in 2019 and is the most premium cleat Nike offers. The upper is built from Nike’s strong, but light, flyknit. Instead of traditional laces, these cleats have a pull-tab to tighten them up which keeps them secure all game. These also feature Nike’s new “edge” traction plate. This plate is a 2-piece construction with sharp studs placed on the edges of the foot to allow guys like K1 to change direction quickly and efficiently.
