David Wright

David Wright is one of the best players to don a Mets uniform. Leading the Mets in numerous offensive categories, Wright was a staple in their line-up for 13 years. Following his dominant performance in the 2013 World baseball Classic, Wright was given the nickname Captain America. Gold Gloves, Silver Sluggers, and All Star appearances make up his tangible contributions. His intangibles are what truly made Captain America special. Wright was named captain of the Mets in 2013-making him the fourth captain in team history.

Wright wore the blue and orange proudly and has had some sick gear to go with it. Nike signed Wright early and had him for his whole career. He has gone through multiple models, but has always worn Nike cleats and used Nike batting gloves. He pairs a LizardSkin grip with various Louisville Slugger bats and an Evoshield leg guard.

Defensively, David Wright’s glove is truly his own. The third baseman has used the Wilson A2K DW5 in various color combinations throughout his career. The DW5 is his own 12″ H-web glove pattern that he designed and later became a constant in Wilson’s glove line.

Wright’s gloves, bats, and batting gloves can be shopped below.
