Since his debut season with the Boston Red Sox in 2020, Alex Verdugo has been gaming a Mizuno GMP2-700 glove that seamlessly matches his joyful personality and playing style. Here are the specifications of his kelly green, red, and white glove, a nod to his Mexican roots:

– Shock 8 web

– Roll welting (complements the colors of each of the back panels)

– Long laces

DUGIE on the thumb

– 99 on the thumb

– Mexican flag (liner embroidery)

– Pressed palm stamp

– Stiff softness

– Deerskin palm liner

You can get a similar option to Verdugo’s GMP2-700 on Mizuno’s custom glove builder for $500.00; without the multi-colored roll welting, white laces, name and number in his exact colors and font, and Mexican flag in the wrist liner.

Baseball Express and Mizuno also offer a similar stock model in the GMP2-700DS, which features the Shock 2 web instead of Verdugo’s Shock 8 web. The Shock 2 web includes a bar at the end of it for increased support.
