Juan Soto is unique. His play, his swagger, and his choice of leg protection at the plate are all one of a kind. He is currently using a combination of an Under Armour leg guard and the toe protector from a yellow EvoShield leg guard; an interesting choice.
This Under Armour guard is not available anywhere, so it’s probably player-exclusive. He’s got his name, his number, and a silhouette of himself doing his signature crouch on the front. It’s also all red and white; possibly a leftover from his time in DC. Maybe his Padres colored guard is still in the mail.
There are Under Armour leg guards available at eBay.com for around $20-$30, but they are not the model that Soto is using. You can get EvoShield leg guards at DicksSportingGoods.com for $60-$100.
This guard looks decidedly similar to the 44 Pro Guard batters leg guard, size option “adult – XL”. He has used an almost identical guard, this season, which is branded “44”. I have no idea how sponsorships work, but I think the guard in this article is a 44 built guard, with an Under Armor paint scheme.
These are available for $80-$90.
