Jackie Robinson Day (Stance Socks, Larry Doby, UCLA)

MLB’s annual Jackie Robinson takeover looks like this.

Curtis Granderson and The Sole Revival team up each year for a custom cleat in honor of Jackie Robinson’s legendary life.  This year, however, Curtis being the thoughtful man that he is, shows his appreciation for the second black player in baseball, he who broke the American League color barrier in the same season (1947) as Jackie did, Larry Doby.  Doby, like Jackie, was a tremendous ballplayer who made seven All-Star teams, drove in 100 five times, and nearly edged Yogi Berra for the 1954 MVP.

These New Balance cleats will live in the Baseball Hall of Fame after today.

Probably our favorites so far, Bryce Harper and @solesbysir teamed up on these simple yet highly effective Harper 2s.

Dexter Fowler stays in the Jordan 9s. (David Price wearing these, too, along with the rest of the Jordan fam)

Franklin got in on the Jackie Robinson celebration with their own, subtle take.

The response from social media: “Where can I get a pair?” Definitely not going to be for sale, but we feel you.

Robinson Cano was named after Jackie Robinson, growing up to follow in Jackie’s footsteps as one of the greatest second baseman to ever play. Here are his Soles by Sir customs in honor of Jackie.  These are the Alpha Huarache Pros.
