Best of WPW 2021 has returned, and each year I am reminded how freakin’ hard it is to pick the 32 best products in baseball. Its the Grammy’s for gear, and this year its powered by the Easton ADV Hype, the most explosive 2-piece composite bat in the game (learn more about the ADV Hype here).
I sat there yesterday for hours stewing over the glove finalists. Thankfully, we had some help from the WPW Discord community (join for free to be part of the convo), and here are your finalists.
The voting is now live on Instagram.com/whatproswear, starting with catcher’s gear, aka the Yadi award. It looks like we might have some competition this year, but dethroning the Yadi baby blue Jumpman might take an act of God.
As we all know, the baby blue Yadi is the heavy favorite, but William Contreras’ 4th of July gear, worn by a few more Nike guys like Zack Collins and Kyle Higashioka as well as his brother Willson might have an outside shot. Eric Haase playing to the patriots may give him a shot, too.
