For 2 weeks every year, Omaha, Nebraska becomes the mecca for baseball fans. We get to see the best college teams in the nation battle it out for the crown. Outside the stadium, it’s a playground for gear heads. Companies like Wilson show up and release tons of new and limited edition gear.
Despite the cancellation of Omaha (hysterical crying face emoji), Wilson is still dropping some heat. Its a “Western” theme for their limited edition gloves this year but, since we had no College World Series, these gloves will be available online rather than their store in Omaha.
These gloves are incorporating some of Wilson’s newest technology. The most interesting being their SpinControl Technology, described by Wilson as “A proprietary texture in the palm (and sometimes the web) of a ball glove that, through increased friction, reduces ball spin in the pocket of the glove.”
As of now, Wilson has released nine models to choose from. The A2K line features a BOLD metallic snakeskin theme while the A2000’s are a little more reserved but do feature Wilson’s flat binding, new bold wrist and thumb logo, and their proprietary SuperSnakeSkin backing.
While some are already sold out, a plethora are still available to choose from. They range from $280 for the A2000’s to $380 for the A2K’s. These gloves are all Wilson.com exclusives and will likely go fast.
Wilson says there will be more limited edition leather coming soon so keep an eye out and follow WPW on Instagram!
