Rafael Devers’ Wilson A2000 EL3 glove has a copper colored web and palm with gray SuperSkin backing. The best part about it is that it’s not even his! If you look closely at the thumb, you will notice an embroidered number “15.” This was very interesting to see given that Devers wears number 11. Through some digging, we were able to find out that this is actually a hand-me-down from Red Sox legend Dustin Pedroia. He has a history of helping teammates overcome slumps and other on-field struggles, so it’s not surprising to see his efforts continue even after retirement.
Flashy customized gloves are cool, but it’s even cooler to see a player like Devers paying homage to one of the greats by using his old gamer. Pedroia gave his heart and soul to the Red Sox organization and it’s only fitting to have a little piece of him remain on the field.
Wilson does not offer the exact gray SuperSkin design seen on Devers’/Pedroia’s glove, but we designed a version of the A2000 EL3 that’s pretty close to the one picture above, available for $380. Check it out or create your own using the link.
