Álvarez’s custom Wilson A2K 1799 glove is almost as sick as his nickname “Air Yordan,” which is hard to top. The 1799 model has a Dual-Post web and is 12.75″ in length. The Houston outfielder customized it with Black SuperSnakeSkin on the web, a black SuperSkin backing, orange trim, and gunmetal-colored leather on the wrist and thumb. To finish it off, he went with framed Wilson logos and his name stitched onto the thumb in orange lettering.
The orange trim really accents the featured black SuperSnakeSkin leather web and goes perfectly with the Houston Astros uniforms. The gunmetal on the wrist and thumb is exclusive to big leaguers, so it is currently unavailable on Wilson’s custom glove builder.
