George Springer got his Axe fix through Mookie Betts, which he reveals in our locker tour with him in 2018.
Axe Bat, the owner of the axe handle patent, has kept a close eye on George’s performance with and without the Axe (Mookie, too). The numbers show a very clear performance improvement with the axe handle:
While his numbers are mostly based on the MB50, Springer is now swinging his own custom model with the same handle as the MB50, but with a bigger barrel. Springer swings a 33.5 inch/30.5 ounce bat based on what we saw. The aesthetics vary and George told us (in his 2019 Locker Tour with WPW) that he lets Victus have fun with it:
