On the bases, Springer goes with the W117B model sliding mitt from Benik. This mitt leaves the fingers exposed and focuses more on protecting the thumb and wrist. It features a hard plastic shell around the thumb that isn’t found on any of Benik’s other sliders.
You won’t be able to order it directly from Benik.com, but you can call 1-800-442-8910 to get your own. Take a look at this webpage for ordering information. You can also check out the CFX PRT sliding mitt from Franklin that provides similar protection, but also covers the fingers. Get it at DicksSportingGoods.com for $50.
