Gleyber Torres has played a lot of shortstop for the Yankees lately, wearing a Rawlings Pro Preferred PRO2174-2KB glove. Gleyber’s is an 11.5″ glove in predominantly dark colors (black with navy web) with white stitching and white welting. This is a really classy look, though I wouldn’t advise ever combining navy and black. They’re too similar.
@picklethebeast417 is WPW’s favorite glove nerd to ask about these kinds of things and here’s what Jay had to say about the glove: “Its probably as close to a 1786 as a comparison to what people would know. The pocket won’t be as deep as the PRO200 since it has straighter fingers and won’t be as bowled like those of similar size.”
Web looks black too. Lacing looks navy. (I agree, they’re too close and I don’t like the color combo either haha.)
