Mizuno has never been the sexiest brand, but that’s not what they’re going for. Mizuno makes Major League quality products for elite players that demand performance. Today we have our first look at a future release from Mizuno, the Dominant IC cleat, due out in October 2016. If you are looking for great performance, stability, and comfort, the Dominant IC deserves a look.
Mizuno’s Heist IQ, which I’ve been wearing for over a year now, has become my favorite cleat I’ve ever owned. I need a cleat that is light, but stable, considering the often uneven outfield surfaces we play on. The Heist IQ is the perfect mix of stability and lightweight for me. I also like the strong outsole that keeps my foot in place but not restricted. I could wear that cleat forever.
Expect more of the same from the Dominant IC, with a little bit better cushioning. The Dominant IC is 13.7 oz to the Heist IQ’s 11 oz (low cut), but that added weight also adds cushion/stability.
Expect to see the Mizuno Dominant IC in both mid-cut (above) and low-cut versions in October 2016. Mizuno will offer six colors at launch. If you want to get your hands on a pair early, and an extremely limited, ALL-STAR edition pair at that, click on the image below to enter our Twitter giveaway:
These were worn by Chris Sale and Michael Saunders in the 2016 All-Star Game. You will not see this special design available anywhere else. Follow the directions in the bottom right of the image, and we will announce the winner on Twitter next Sunday.
