When I started this site, I hoped one day I’d earn some cred with the big brands and instead of having to guess on models, I could go straight to the source and get 100% accurate information. Because you guys keep coming back to the site and interacting with us and showing your passion for this, that day has come. We got the specs straight from the Rawlings Pro Department this time around. Its really exciting and I want to thank you all for that.
Alvarez has a beautiful, well-oiled Pro Preferred with the most extreme flare we’ve seen in the Bigs to date. Here are the specs:
- 12” Pro-Preferred
- Bruciata colored Back/Palm
- Pro-I web in Camel
- Camel lacing
- “Pedro Alvarez” embroidered in beige script
I chose that shot because it gives you a good view of that flare on the thumb and pinky. I had assumed Alvarez picked up that preference while at Vanderbilt, but after seeing some photos from those days, he wore a traditional Wilson A2000 in those days. Alvarez’ glove is not available online, and sadly, I only found one PRO1000 model, Mark Buehrle’s PRO1000-4PRB (which is gorgeous, by the way). You can get a glove pretty close to Alvarez’, the 11.75″ PROS17ICBR, an I-Web with that bruciata/camel look, available here.
We didn’t see Alvarez wearing these aside from on top of his hat (he rocks eye black often), but here are the specs:
- Frame: White Chrome
- Lens: Fire Iridium Pitch
- Icon: Polished Black
- Earsock: Black
You can browse other Oakley Radars, the most popular style in the Bigs, here.
You can see two photos up Alvarez’ Phiten necklace, available at the link above.
