Marcus Stroman announced in March that he’d be rolling out his own footwear brand, Shugo, after spending most of his career with Jordan and adidas. The way his partnership with Jordan ended might have sparked the initiative to create his own line in 2018. At the time, Stroman announced his separation from Jordan in a tweet:
“Crazy that I had to end my partnership with my @Jumpman23 family because they didn’t want me to spread the message of #HDMH to the world. Hurts beyond belief. Either way, the climb continues!”
Perhaps his frustration with footwear brands led him to create his own lane with a new brand by Marcus, for Marcus: Shugo. Recently, Stroman wore the Shugo cleat in white with that Tiffany blue we’ve seen him wear in the past. He hid the back half of the cleat under his pants, but overall its a clean look.
We reached out to Marcus and his agency for info, but did not hear back at the time of publish, so we’re not sure if these cleats have a name or if they’ll be available. Check back for updates and until then, follow @_shugo on IG.
