44 Pro guards are seemingly everywhere at this point, and Pete Alonso is decked out in custom hand and elbow guards. The custom colors are well played, and Alonso added his new nickname “Polar Bear,” given by third base coach Gary DiSarcina in recognition of Alonso’s raw power.
While I think the nickname is a dud, it does look good on the guard. You can customize a 44Pro hand ($40) and elbow guard ($70) just like Alonso’s at the link.
