First seen on Miguel Sano in the HR Derby final, New Balance is now offering the 4040v4 as a custom option, as a molded, metal, and even a turf.
You have 17 different options, but to be honest its really hard to make a great-looking multi-colored cleat. The “embossed TPU” mountain-shaped upper piece is the dominant feature of this cleat, so without keeping the secondary color basic (white/grey/black) you really can’t do much with it in my opinion. Sano’s monochromatic (single color) style is really the only thing I could do that looked good to me.
Though the creativity is lacking on this silhouette, if you’re going for a less commonly used team color turf or cleat (purple, teal, orange, etc.), the custom 4040v4 would be a great option. Customize the 4040v4 here.
