Kawhi Leonard’s first signature shoe has finally released on NewBalance.com.
The Clippers star and New Balance unveiled the shoe this past February during NBA All-Star Weekend, where Leonard took home his first MVP trophy for the annual All-Star game.
Built for all positions, the New Balance KAWHI 1 features FuelCell cushioning on the midsole. This is New Balance’s premier tech that features energy return for explosive plays throughout the game.
For stability, the shoe features a full-length (shank) performance plate that helps support the foot for all the cuts and jumps in Leonard’s game.
The KAWHI 1 upper is made up of what New Balance calls Kinetic Stitch. This upper was made with data-driven thread in high wear areas, providing durability where you need it.
For a personal touch, NB added braid-inspired stitching in the midfoot area of the upper as well as eyelets based on the tail lights of his favorite whip (a 1997 Chevy Tahoe, apparently.)
The blue Jolly Rancher colorway that’s currently available has some Kawhi Easter eggs as well. The tongue features fruit characters to match each classic Jolly Rancher flavor. On the side, you’ll see an unamused blueberry saying “HAHAHA”, a nod to Leonard’s famous laugh.
You can click HERE to purchase this blue Jolly Rancher KAWHI 1 for $160 USD.
The “Seismic Moment” colorway that Leonard first debuted at the All-Star Game will release 11/11 at 10am ET on the New Balance site.
