New Balance Playoff Updates: 3000v2 Playoff Pack + Our First Look at 4040v3 CUSTOMS

Finally something to chew on.  New Balance sent us over some great looks at our very first custom 4040v3, which showed up at Andre Ethier’s locker while it still smelled like champagne.  Ethier has basically been a man forgotten in LA these last couple of years, yet he remains a steady producer for Donnie Baseball, much more so than Puig this year.  Even in comparison with Matt Kemp, who’s had a really nice year (with 200 more ABs), Ethier’s slashline compares favorably.

Maybe my tastes are more conservative, but sometimes the one-color look is the best.  Ethier’s solid blue will undoubtedly be stand out on the field, and the digi-camo laces are a nice touch (GOTTA KEEP EM CLEAN THOUGH!).  As much as I love them, I can’t wait to see what New Balance can do with a more flamboyant 4040v3 wearer, and really see what a souped up v3 can look like.

Look for these on Ethier as the Dodgers enter the playoffs.

We also wanted to draw your attention to a new “Playoff Pack” of 3000v2s that are available to interested parties.  Maybe we’ll see some Cardinals in the above version?

Maybe a Brett Gardner?  Or will the Yankees let the Ghost of The Boss run the show and shame Gardner for wearing non-boring cleats again?  No disrespect to George Steinbrenner, but his policies on facial hair and footwear were downright stupid and the Yanks need to wake up and smell the beard oil on that one.

I know Royals mid-season pick-up Ben Zobrist is going to be rocking 3000v2s and these look like great candidates.  Keep an eye out and as always, IF YOU SEE SOMETHING SAY SOMETHING.  Get ’em here.
