VIDEO: Mike Trout’s Nike Lunar Vapor Trout Cleat Closeups, Trout Discussing Colorways

A couple updates on Trout’s new cleats.  One, he ended up wearing the red/grey camos in the Lunar Vapor Trout’s debut, seen above and from Mike’s Instagram below:

Second, we told you guys yesterday (in the original post) I had a couple of videos of yesterday’s Nike Lunar Vapor Trout unveiling. Here they are, the first being a good closeup of both the black/white and red/volt:

And then here, where I asked Mike about colorways and NIKEiD possibilities.

I’m hoping for NIKEiD if you couldn’t tell, but Mike sounded unsure. Also interesting that according to Trout, a lot of guys are wearing full-length tights in the Big Leagues these days, like the . Its something we’ve seen a lot in basketball too, as it keeps the all-important leg muscles taut and insulated.  As I said to Mike, I can see definite benefits from going that route.  The Nike Pro Combat Hyperstrong Slider Tight should be available 10/1.

I should also mention I asked Mike his feelings about plastic cleats while not recording.  He said he didn’t like ’em because he wants that extra traction, saying he’s used plastics before and slipped out of the batter’s box too much.  I asked, but he wasn’t sure if the Vapor Trouts would be offered in plastic.

  1. If you’re like me and don’t want to wait on the vapor compressions to come out, or just don’t want to spend the money, the mcdavid extended leg sleeves are a great alternative and if you want to, you can only wear one on one knee, you can find them here
