New Balance is not sneaking up on anybody anymore in baseball. They’re a powerhouse, with some of the best in baseball on the NB roster. They’ve earned a reputation in the last five years that has spread through dugouts and clubhouses everywhere. There isn’t a ballpark in America that doesn’t have some 4040s and 3000s kicking around.
In this podcast, Mike and Jake talk with Dave Millman, who oversees the baseball product line, Bryan Gothie, who leads Cleated Innovation for New Balance, and Pedro Rodrigues, who works directly with athletes in the New Balance Sports Research Lab in Lawrence, MA. We met Pedro in the lab when New Balance released the 3000v3 custom recently, and he along with Bryan and Dave gave us some insight into where the brand is headed, with a special focus on the 3-D plate that we saw on their Instagram on Opening Day.
