BY ANDREW ROBINSON
What’s up everyone? I’m WPW’s new pick-up and I’d like to introduce myself. My name is Andrew Robinson and I’m a relief pitcher in the Houston Astros organization. I am currently playing my 5th season of pro ball for the Corpus Christi Hooks, the double A affiliate for the Astros. Before I was drafted, I played 4 seasons at Georgia Tech in Atlanta, Ga. In my time in college and the pros, I’ve been around some pretty awesome gear, and I hope to show you guys some of the new and unique stuff that I’m seeing this year.
One of my favorite things in my locker right now is the Under Armour Alter Ego compression shirts. I saw them last year and knew I had to get one. I’m somewhat of a nerd and a big fan of all the superhero movies, so I can’t think of a better game day undershirt. Teammate Enrique Hernandez and I came across a couple of them on a road trip in Frisco, TX. I got Captain America and he got Batman. We wore them the rest of last season.
We’ll this season we took it to another level. We got another teammate on board, (Alex Sogard) and the three of us brought it to the Hooks bullpen. The clubhouse caught on and now almost every member of the bullpen wears one, and it has moved on to other players on our team, too. Even our strength coach and trainer have them now.
There are many different styles to choose from, but my game undershirt of choice this season is the desert camo Batman. Personally, I think the camo shirts are the best looking and we have most of the different patterns in the bullpen. These undershirts have become a must have for when I’m on the field. Check them out!
