WPW’s Hottest Leather Behind the Dish

There is absolutely no doubt that Catchers use their glove more than any other position. That’s why its important for professional catchers to have the most durable glove, not the prettiest. Black and Camel leathers are usually the strongest, so most catchers stick with those colors, which do not usually make a sweet-looking or flashy glove. However, some of the best catchers have actually made some sweet gloves while not sacrificing durability.  Here are the best of the best.

Yadier Molina’s Rawlings Heart of the Hide PROCM41JB

How can you not like 8-Time Gold Glove Winner Yadier Molina’s glove? Yadi has won so many Gold Gloves because of all-time great skill, but his glove is certainly part of his great success behind the dish. The classic black look with mesh is not exactly flashy, but the gold labels make the statement that Yadi is the best in the business.  You can’t get the Yadi model with gold labels unless you win a Gold Glove yourself, but the standard-labeled model is available here.

Wilson Ramos’ Custom Wilson A2000 1790

Not only can Wilson Ramos rake, but he’s got great taste in leather. Here is Ramos’ beautiful gamer:

Ramos’ Custom A2000 1790 is super sweet with a saddle tan and red colorway with a Superskin back. You can get it through the custom builder here. Here is a better pic of the design:

Salvador Perez’ Rawlings Heart of the Hide PROSP13 GOLD

Wow is all I can muster. Perez’ Gold Glove mitt is the definition of flashy. The metallic gold just POPS and goes perfectly with the black leather. Why didn’t Perez get Gold labels on this beauty?  Maybe it would blind people?  Don’t expect Perez to use this in games, but he has been using it to warm-up (just light toss) as of late. It is unavailable to buy.  (The lace-on wrist guard is available.)

Blake Swihart’s Custom Wilson A2K M1

GID10DQMRRH-back

Hot. That is what I have to say about Blake Swihart’s Custom Wilson A2K M1.  I love the Black and Red combo.  That’s just always a good look. This Custom M1 has a Superskin back as well. I can’t believe how nice this glove is, and you can pick it up here.

Most catcher mitts are plain colors and not necessarily “pretty,” but if you’re looking to add a little flair behind the dish, give these a look.
