Uni-Watch’s Paul Lukas has been very busy today, revealing not only these MARPAT Authentics for Memorial Day, but also with a 2013 Season Preview. With regards to the hats, my guess for why they didn’t do team-specific MARPAT color schemes is the almighty $$$$, but that decision probably cost them triple the sales. I would have liked them much better if they took a page out of New Balance’s book on this one (see Zobrist, Cabrera, Santana). From what MLB PR tells us, though, all proceeds will go to Welcome Back Veterans, an organization that helps “men and women make a successful transition to civilian life when their service to their country has ended,” so we like that.
There’s some good stuff in the Season Preview including some new alternate hats and newer, more protective batting helmets. I recommend giving it a scan.
