I don’t think anyone could have said it better than @sluggernation right there. Every day should be Mother’s Day, but today is the day that just about everybody in baseball jumps on board to SHOW just how much they love mom, and the most obvious way is the use of pink gear. This year more than ever, pink is being worn in all forms, and we have it all in this post.
Nike had these Huarache Pro cleats made up by Joel Green (@recon_nw) specifically for Mother’s Day, 129 in all, according to Joel’s Instagram account. They have been all over the MLB today, worn by just about every Nike player in baseball.
Victorino had his Huaraches specially made as well, but with a little Hawaiian flavor.
Above are Manny Machado’s pink Jordan 12 cleats. These were sprayed by Joel Green as well. Jordan can’t make enough of these in black/white as Eastbay only has the biggest sizes. You can definitely find a pair on eBay though if you can’t take no for an answer.
Wilson Ramos shows us that Chandler Bats, Phiten and Evoshield got in on the Mother’s Day action, too. (Phiten Pink Ribbon Power Sleeve is available.)
Evoshield and Franklin (keep scrolling) that have actually made these items available to the public. Get the pink digi camo elbow guard here.
Get the digi camo leg guard here.
The MLB/Susan Komen Breast Cancer Awareness logo is special for today, but you can get the pink wrist guard w/ strap (worn by Ramos) and the strapless wrist guard (worn by Jose Bautista) at those links.
Nate McLouth and other Franklin guys got special mom-inspired treatment today as well. Above are the Natural II batting gloves in pink. Those are exclusives, but the Neo Classic II and the CFX Pro are both available in pink. The Natural IIs are available in several other colors. Also see the Chandler CB13 with Nate’s mother’s name, Pam McLouth, inscribed on the barrel. Mrs. McLouth is a breast cancer survivor. Here are the CFX Pros:
Another Joel Green production, Derek Jeter wore these Jordan Jeter LUX cleats in today’s game, a rare splash of cleat color for the traditionally black & white Yankee dress code. The Jordan Jeter LUX cleats are available but you’ll have to paint them pink yourself.
The Diamondbacks shared some pink swag from the clubhouse as well. From the top left: New Balance laces, Victus and Slugger lumber, UA Yard Mid cleats, and Phiten X-30 necklace. The wristbands are unavailable as far as we know.
Under Armour made a statement today as well, with three different shoes given the Pink Ribbon treatment.
Nick Travieso of the class A Reds affiliate, the Dayton Dragons, showed off his UA Spine cleats while UA showed the rest of the Mother’s Day lineup, the Spine turfs and UA Yard, worn by many UA guys including Christian Yelich.
Mississippi State got styled by adidas specifically for mom today, wearing some sweet custom jerseys (somehow I think the pink worked well with the maroon). They also got these:
The adidas adizero 5-Tool 2.5 in pink digi camo! This one is exclusive.
And last but not least, the company that made pink cool in the MLB, Louisville also did their standard run of pink sticks. From top to bottom, Alex Gordon’s G174, Jason Heyward’s I13, Jeter’s P72, Joey Votto’s M356, Evan Longoria’s I13, Curtis Granderson’s M110, Adam Jones AJ10, Buster Posey’s D200, David Wright’s C243, and Josh Hamilton’s H359. Granderson’s pink M110 turning model is actually available on Eastbay for $39.99.
No mention of pink catchers gear worn by the Machete and AJ Ellis?
Those jerseys are sick… we need more college features!!!!!!!!
