Yoan Moncada’s go-ahead bomb paired with a heaping portion of Swagu stole the show at this year’s Futures Game, while the talent on display that day is already showing up in the Bigs (see Alex Bregman).
Moncada swung a Tucci YM1 which we broke down in our “Bats of the Top 5 Prospects in Baseball” post.
We had never seen the Under Armour cleats that Moncada (and many other Futures Game players) wore that day, but we did a little research:
The new Deception. Releasing 10/1. Good-looking cleat though it doesn’t really stand out to me like the last one did. Keep an eye out on WPW for more details when they become available. One thing I do know is that I love the silver.
Moncada is a hitting machine and with all that silver he looked the part. If we try hard enough, we may be able to squint past the misguided use of Padres throwback colors and enjoy the red/white/blue Wilson A2000 1788 that Moncada was rocking. This glove is available exactly like Moncada’s at this link.
Moncada swiped second then took 3rd on a bad throw, sliding in head first with a Benik W-107 wrist guard (available here).
Rays #3 prospect Willy Adames had the sickest glove on the field, period. That’s a guy that knows he’s gonna be wearing those Big League colors real soon. Reminiscent in its vibrance of Jose Reyes’ glove when he first came to Miami (that’s a 4+ year old link).
This is a glove you can buy. Right here. Right now.
I’m taking Adames on this one, but who has the sicker glove…
The custom Oakley Radar EVs didn’t hurt, and you can get those just like Adames’ too.
Seattle’s Tyler O’Neill’s Trout 3s were absolute heat. Buy them now.
David Dahl made his debut in LF for the Rockies on July 25, so clearly the Rox liked what they saw at the Futures Game. Dahl wore what we have to assume (by the design) are some type of Vapor/Trout batting gloves, though they haven’t surfaced yet. Also notice the Evoshield Speed Stripe wrist guard.
The Marucci CU26 that David Dahl swings is a cupped Maple that is available here or customizable here.
The Nike 2K Filths are your standard Minor League black/white. Now that he’s in the Bigs, he’s having a little more fun:
