Because of the immense talent, hair, and rotund charisma in the Mets rotation, Long Island native Steven Matz doesn’t really get the headlines. Well, he doesn’t need ’em. Without much fanfare Matz has kicked his MLB career off with a cool 11-1 record paired with a 2.32 ERA. He’s a freakin’ stud, and he’s got one of the most beautiful pieces of leather in baseball, in my opinion. Matz’ glove is virtually identical to one worn by Tim Lincecum back in his heyday, and we talk with him about it in the above video.
