More Freshtivus for the Rest of Us: Bargain Bin, Part II

Epicsports.com – site having a big sale on most Under Armour gear

1. Under Armour Yard Clutchfit Batting Gloves, $31

These gloves are new to the market featuring ClutchFit technology to UA’s new line of batting gloves. HeatGear fabric on back of glove with embossed leather on palm. The ClutchFit tech looks like a thin, grid-like layer of silicone covering HeatGear fabric to produce a lighter but durable glove. Nike’s equivalent to this glove would be the Vapor Pro Elite 3.0, with both companies striving for a more ultralight, streamlined glove eliminating extra bulk at the back of the glove for a better fit and feel. Great looking glove at a great price. Worn by Kolten Wong of the St. Louis Cardinals and Eric Hosmer of the Kansas City Royals.

On the site, choose your color, size and click “Add to Cart” to view the marked down price of $31 in your “Shopping Cart”. Most common sizes still available.

2. Under Armour Yard Undeniable Batting Glove, $33.59

The Undeniables have been available for the entire season, but not at this current low price. Heatgear back and embossed, digitized palm and plenty of swag at the plate. Eric Hosmer of the Kansas City Royals has worn these in his epic playoff run.

Be sure to choose your color, size and “Add to Cart” to see lowered price. Both styles above are top of the line Under Armour batting gloves at a very reasonable price.

3. Under Armour Yard Mid and Low ST Metal Cleats, Black/White Only for Mids at $74.39, All colors for Lows at $71.69

These cleats are brand new from UA with Charged Foam cushioning and I can’t wait to try these. This has replaced the Spine midsole with Micro G cushioning throughout the UA baseball cleat lines. Another attractive shoe design worn by many pros in the MLB.

4. Rawlings Vented Coolflo Catchers Helmet, $17.89, Comes in fitted sizes from 7 thru 7-5/8
Rawlings Traditional Catcher Helmet, $17.39, Also Comes in fitted sizes from 7 thru 7-5/8

For catchers wearing the two piece mask and cap combo, the Coolflo is the newer, upgraded version of the traditional catchers helmet (Rawlings CCPBH) with CoolFlo vents to make the helmet lighter and breathe better. My #1 choice of catcher helmets for those using a traditional mask as these sizes are fitted and are not a “one size fits all” helmet. Fitment of catchers helmets is paramount and you will get an exact size that fits your head with these helmets (fitted sizes are true to size so order your actual ballcap size). This cap also has an improved ProDri headband (softer and wicks sweat) and top of head padding compared to the synthetic leather covered headband of the older model. It does have a higher crown making some catchers look a little odd, but the performance benefits are well worth the trade off. Salvador Perez, Miguel Montero and Russell Martin wear these catcher helmets. Travis d’Arnaud of the Mets currently wears the older, traditional version.

5. Palmgard Inner Glove Xtra, $17

I have used this exact glove for catching for about 4 years and it continues to be one of my trusted tools in my bag. There is a non-rebound, thick but flexible pad on the entire length of the forefinger and a shorter pad on the middle finger. There is additional padding at the base of the two fingers and at the base of the thumb. The back of glove is a flexible nylon combo with a soft cabretta leather palm. I have tried many inner gloves, but this one is my favorite for catchers. For those seeking the maximum amount of protection in the fingers, this is a great choice. The price on Epicsports.com is the best I’ve found on the internet.

1. Demarini Pro Maple Wood Composite Bats D271 and D243, $96

These bats are super durable with great balance and pop. These are the most popular wood composite bats I have seen in adult wood bat leagues I’ve played for. On the site, the D271 black model has 31″, 32″ and 34″ available while the D243 brick red model has 31″ and 32″ available. Act quick if you are looking for a great wood composite for batting practice or game use or tired of frequently spending money replacing broken wood bats.
