Its Players Weekend, a holiday built for WPW, and our inbox is lit. We’ve got Keez at Citi Field tonight, and I’ll be on the field Sunday in Anaheim, with Trout back just in time. Until then, lets not waste words.
Victus with the help of Diesel Bats, makes beautiful pieces of wood even more beautiful with these paint jobs. The Cali state flag for Mitch Haniger, from Mountain View, CA will be tough to beat this weekend.
Josh Bell of the Pirates.
Adam Jones loves him some Air Monarchs. Says he likes comfy dad shoes. Adam and I disagree on this point.
Something we don’t disagree on is donuts and cookies. Those are always winners. KD Custom Kicks put these together, and though I’m not impressed by the artwork, I do want a donut.
Kris Bryant doubled down on last year’s effort to raise awareness and money for @wingsforlife, a spinal cord research foundation, and credited @lauren_asta, @fqart, @merlotism for the artwork.
Francisco Lindor wanted everyone to know that “there’s not a day that goes by that I’m not thinking about what’s going on around the world.” He added some #hashtags representative of the causes he cares about when he takes the field.
Tater Bats does not seem to be a bat that Yan Gomes or Gregory Polanco have swung at all recently (we saw Gomes with it in Spring Training), but that didn’t stop Tater from doing a nice job on these custom bats for Players Weekend. Polanco’s bats are above.
Gomes’ Brazil bat really stood out. Its cool to see Brazil represented in the MLB like this.
Frankie Lindor gets a custom Marucci to match his custom NB cleats. No wonder he’s always smiling.
These bats with the Korean flag are sweet. Shin-soo Choo will take his sneaky .394 OBP and one of these sticks to the dish this weekend.
A very sexy color combo for the Marlins’ Marucci contingent. Miguel Rojas, Magneuris Sierra, Starlin Castro, JT Realmuto, and Martin Prado will swing them.
Best Marucci bat goes to Albert Pujols though. THE MACHINE.
Mike Clevinger parties. Art by @jhru04.
Here’s the artist with another look at Clevinger, aka Sunshine’s Hendrix cleats for this weekend.
Jason Kipnis liked what he saw from Clevinger and commissioned Hrusovsky (same artist) to create a pair that vividly expresses Kipnis’ love of Marvel’s Thanos and Thor.
Curtis Granderson (@cgrand) “supports Jays Care’s Toronto-based efforts as well as @cbea_uic, which empowers youth in his hometown of Chicago to lead healthier, more productive lives by providing unparalleled access to educational and athletic opportunities.”
Art done by Sole Revival.
This is KD’s best work, elephant print Clippers for Walker Buehler of the Dodgers.
Wes from Wes Custom Kicks, a ballplayer in his own right, knocked these Trout 4s outta the park with these P-40 Warhawk Trout 4s for Ryan Buchter.
