What Pros Wear: Chris Davis (Bat, Batting Gloves, Cleats, Guards)

chris davis bat model, chris davis cleats, louisville slugger prime, nike air huarache 2k4 low, diamond elite pro ii batting gloves, ebi elbow guard

Chris Davis, the high-ceiling prospect taken out with the trash in Texas is now a full-blown Triple Crown contender in Baltimore, ranking in the top 10 in average, leading the league in jacks, and trailing only the Triple Crown Defender himself in RBI.  His relentlessly powerful first half has him on pace with Roger Maris’ 1961 campaign, when the lesser known of the M&M Brothers hit 61 to take the record from Babe in his own House.  With respect given to the steroid-fueled seasons of the 90s and 2000s, I still think Maris’ 61 is the gold standard and what Chris Davis is rightfully chasing.

Bat

Louisville Slugger M356 Maple

Davis swings a 35 inch, 32 ounce Louisville Slugger M356—the same model as Joey Votto.  When you’re as good a hitter as Votto, the bat company sticks your signature on the bat and sells it.  That’s the case here, as the M356 is sold as the Joey Votto model at the link above.

Batting Gloves

Nike Diamond Elite Pro II in Exclusive Orioles Colors

Davis wears exclusive versions of the DE Pro IIs, the most popular batting glove style in baseball.  Though there is an orange style available, Davis got his custom.

Davis has also worn a few different sets of the Nike Air MVP 3/4s as well (you can see one set in the feature and one below).  You can customize these on NIKEiD or buy the regular versions here.

Guards

EBI Elbow Guard

EBI is a brand we’ve seen before on Josh Hamilton, but there is no trace of them selling their products online.  The Orioles team physician probably knows the guy at EBI and that’s that.  See the above picture for a look at it.  Where’s the #evoswag?

ProHitter Thumb Batting Aid

Forgot to add this—thanks to consistent WPW contributor MC917 for the reminder.

Bat Knob Decals

I added this in the feature because its a baller logo, but you can get custom decals at that website.

  1. Davis wears a white ProHitter on his thumb when he hits. Maybe you want to add that

  2. in the caption those arent DE Elite Pro II’s those are the originals

  3. Ebi and biomet are, I think, part of the same company. If you look up biomet elbow guard, the first result is an elbow guard from Biomet. It might be the one Chris Davis and Josh Hamilton wear…can you please look into this?
