THIS POST HAS BEEN UPDATED HERE.
Votto’s home country, Canada, is not traditionally known as a baseball country (though WPW does get a lot of Canadian visitors!). In fact, Votto is in elite company in Canada, joining Larry Walker (’98) and Ferguson Jenkins (’74) as one of only three baseball players to win the Lou Marsh Trophy, awarded annually to the country’s top athlete. Feel free to use that as a trivia question.
Votto, the NL’s 2011 Gold Glove Award winner at first, wears a Rawlings Pro Preferred PROTMKBVOT, made specially for him and available online! It’s a single post exactly like you see in the feature—except his has red writing.
He also wears his batting glove under his fielding glove, which we know from my previous post is a Franklin Neo Classic II, scarcely available online.
On his left forearm, Votto wears a Franklin band with his number on it. WPW has seen him wearing both red and grey, neither of which are available online. I just photoshopped the one in the feature off of his wrist, which shows that the “Franklin” runs parallel to his arm. There are Franklin wristbands available where the logo runs perpendicular to your arm, but not parallel like Votto’s.
I put his sunglasses up because I’ve been doing it for everyone else, but I really can’t promise you those are current, and here’s why—he never wears them. I noticed he wore them literally ONCE this year and he wasn’t wearing them for the entire game. Either way, those Oakley Radar Range are available through the Oakley Custom Builder. Here are the specs:
- Frame: Pearl White (Straight Stem)
- Lens: Fire Iridium Range
- Icon: Polished Black
- Earsock: White

Cool. WPW, do you think you could do a page on jason heyward, and see what glove he wears in the outfield. Thanks WPW.
