Raul Ibanez, aka the “Yankees’ Only Hope,” swings a Chandler bat.
If you follow me (@whatproswear) on Twitter, you know how I feel about Raul. Of his 19 bombs during the regular season, 10 of them tied or took the lead for the Yankees. It’s not a stretch but a certainty to say that had Brian Cashman not signed Ibanez to that $1.1 million dollar deal in the off-season, the $195 million dollar Yankees wouldn’t be in the playoffs at all. But that wasn’t enough for Ibanez, he had to guarantee Yankees home field advantage with these:
And once he’d gotten the Yankees home field advantage, he launched them into the ALCS with two of these, and hit another to tie Game 1 of that series in the 9th (again).
Like I said, the man deserves a statue for what he’s done for the Yankees this season. But I’m no sculptor, so this WPW profile is my way of saying thank you to Raul for one of the most memorable clutch performances we’ll see for some time.

We know by now that you can’t get Chandler bats online yet, but they are available by calling Chandler directly at (877) 497-2287, extension 100. I sent a tweet to Chandler about whether or not you can get Ibanez’ exact model but didn’t hear back. If I could guess though, since they are “made by hand, not by a factory,” I’d say you can get Raul’s cut.
Ibanez is an Under Armour guy, wearing the Yard VI batting gloves similar to those you see in the feature. The difference is that Ibanez’ are grey/blue (below), which we couldn’t find anywhere online.

The above photo gives you a pretty good look at Ibanez’ cleats, the Under Armour Heater IV cleats in black/Yankee blue. Though his exact colorway is not available, there are several different options available online for the Heater IV.
