Ryan Braun, “The Hebrew Hammer,” is one of the brightest young stars in the game. In his first five seasons, he’s got four Silver Slugger awards, four All-Star selections, a 30-30 season, led the league in slugging twice (setting the rookie record in ’07), a Rookie of the Year award, and an NL MVP. That’s a lot of hardware for a 27 year old. Braun doesn’t seem to be slowing down either, despite the off-season controversy, as he is in usual spot near the top of the NL leaderboards.
Ryan Braun swings a Sam Bat RB8 maple bat, his own signature model. There were a few videos from Sam Bat featuring Braun and he even has a dedicated microsite, but I tried to pick the most interesting ones, which ended up being these below.
UPDATE: WPW Reader Moe was interested in the length/weight of Braun’s bat, so I did a little research this morning and found this picture (below) of a bat Braun used in 2008 on Mears Online Auctions. From what it looks like, at least at that time, he was swinging a 35 inch, 31 1/3rd ounce bat. Apparently Braun likes his bat long and light.
The Sam Bat RB8 is available online.
Braun is on Ken Griffey Jr.’s Swingman roster, and wears exclusive batting gloves and cleats from that line. The Swingman batting gloves that Braun wears can be found online, just not in his exclusive colorways.
Braun recently nabbed his 100th career stolen base in his grey/black/gold Nike Air Swingman Remix 2 cleats. That colorway is exclusive to Braun as well, though the Remix 2 model is available in a few different colors.
You can see Braun’s shin guard in the feature, which is from the brand Bike. Braun still does wear a Bike shin guard, but they don’t sell anything like it online.

Braun in the field next!
it would be very interesting to know the length/weight ratio of the bats these guys are swinging…I know that it’s noted on some player profiles….the info is hard to get though
Check it out, Moe.
GREAT RESEARCH! thanks a lot! I really enjoy checking your site everyday for new infos!
Braun’s been wearing franklin batting gloves and 3n2 cleats in 2014

I thought the length to weight had to be within -3, and this would tell me his bat is illegal. Am I missing something?
