One of the lesser known sneakers that Carmelo Anthony wore during his rookie season was the Air Jordan 19.
The eye-catching shroud on the upper was inspired by a fencer’s mask, featuring Tech Flex technology. This combines with plush leather (or firm patent leather) surrounding the shroud. This offers the flexibility while still being durable enough to use to for cables in a variety of industries. The cushioning features heel and forefoot Zoom Air, with two units stacked in the heel. This provides extra bounce with the Phylon midsole foam when running and landing.
Anthony rocked the “Flint Grey” colorway during the 2004 Rookie vs. Sophomore Rising Stars game, which you can find HERE. A 2019 re-release paid homage to Melo with his name on the insoles.
You can find other colorways of the Air Jordan 19 at StockX, GOAT, and Flight Club.
