Carmelo Anthony’s first signature shoe ever was the Air Jordan Melo 1.5 shoes.
The sneaker takes visual elements from the Air Jordan 1 and 2 (hence the 1.5 moniker) with updated technology. The midsole and wings logo on the medial heel notably are lifted from the AJ1. Some colorways mix up the medial logo, switching it with the Carmelo signature instead.
The Melo 1.5 features full-length Air for casual comfort as well as impact protection when landing and jumping. The upper harkens back to the 90s with leathers and nubucks used depending on the colorway you wear.
Carmelo Anthony first wore the sneaker during the 2004 Summer Olympic Games, before rocking it heavily for the 2004-05 and 2005-06 seasons with the Denver Nuggets. Anthony later brought back the Melo 1.5 after getting traded to the New York Knicks in various orange and blue player editions. Another comeback occurred in 2018, with Melo rocking the shoe with the Oklahoma City Thunder.
