Carmelo Anthony’s sneaker of choice for the 2007-08 season was the Jordan Melo M4.
This is Anthony’s 4th signature sneaker in his line, but first with the “M” moniker. The first two signatures were retro mashups in the Melo 1.5 and 5.5.
As was the case for his last three signatures, the Melo M4 was designed by D’Wayne Edwards. The eye-catching new detail on this design was the Foamposite material on the collar. This is a nod to Carmelo’s Baltimore roots where the Foamposite is incredibly popular. Another unique detail was the addition of removable ankle sleeves that matched the colorway you wore.
Tech-wise, the cushioning system utilizes encapsulated full-length Air for impact protection when landing.
Anthony first debuted the sneaker in the Denver Nuggets 2007 season opener against the Seattle Supersonics, which happened to be Kevin Durant’s first game ever. Carmelo later rocked the M4 for the majority of the 2008 Summer Olympic Games with the “Redeem Team” that won gold.
