Carmelo Anthony’s sneaker of choice for the 2008-09 season with the Denver Nuggets was the Jordan Melo M5.
D’Wayne Edwards was back after designing Carmelo’s first four signature sneakers. The design took inspiration from the Air Jordan 15, with a molded heel combining with extra collar padding for a lockdown fit. Zoom Air units in the heel and forefoot provide a bouncy feeling when landing and running.
Carmelo debuted the M5 in the final game in the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics. Anthony and the “Redeem Team” captured gold against Spain, not a bad way to show off the new sneakers.
