While technically his second signature shoe, the Nike LeBron 2 was the first to bear James’ namesake. (The first was dubbed the Air Zoom Generation.) The LeBron 2 was also the first to feature his signature L23 logo that remained on his sneakers for his first Cleveland Cavaliers run. Another first was the inclusion of the lion logo that would make multiple appearances across the LeBron line. This lion was done up in detailed laser graphics on the upper and outsole traction.
The shoe looks bulky by today’s standards, but it did feature technology at the time to match LeBron’s quickness. Full-length Zoom Air was used for extra bounce and a quick first step. The durable Zytel midfoot shank helps with stability. The removable velcro collar strap provided a lockdown fit around your ankles.
You can find the Nike LeBron 2 at StockX, Flight Club, and Stadium Goods.
