One of the biggest sneakerheads in the NBA is back with the Swoosh as P.J. Tucker has signed a multiyear deal with Nike.
Tucker announced the new contract via the Uninterrupted Twitter account. While not disclosed, the deal is said to be in the six-figure range per year. A few weeks ago, P.J. told The Crossover what was weighted more in his future as a sneaker free agent:
“More than anything, it is just the fit. Something that makes sense. I want to be able to be me but at the same time, I want to create some fun stuff that I want to wear and be with a company that is with me and pushes me to do that as well. There is a lot of different things that goes into that.”
Tucker further said that he was choosing between Nike, Puma, Adidas to Reebok in that same interview.
The Sneaker King as many called him, isn’t a star on the level of LeBron James. He did draw eyes though, rocking The King’s sneakers as well as other hard to find gems. P.J. rocked 2, sometimes 3 different sneakers on nights with resell values in the thousands of dollars. This includes the self-lacing Nike Mag from the Back to the Future movie.
Tucker notably debuted the Nike Air Fear of God 1 on-court in November 2018, and started wearing his own Hyperdunk PEs in December that year.
