The Beaverton footwear giant wants every player to try the Nike Air Zoom BB NXT, regardless of position.
The game has changed from the early days when big men wore bulky sneakers, and guards rocked lightweight options. A forward like Anthony Davis is rocking Kobes while explosive guards like Russell Westbrook wears a supportive signature line.
The Nike Air Zoom BB NXT attempts to appeal to all players, with more focus on maximizing comfort and energy return. This would allow NBA players to withstand a grueling 82-game season, while staying fresh at the game’s closing moments.
The shoe boasts step-in comfort with exposed React foam under the heel. A thin plate sits directly above the React for support. In the forefoot are two Air Zoom units to absorb an athlete’s energy, returning it for a bouncy sensation.
Comfort can be felt around the ankle with the plush foam tongue and padded collar in that area. The upper consists of a breathable mesh, with textured print added for support and durability in high-wear zones.
The Nike Air Zoom BB NXT will release on July 1.
