These aren’t the 4040v3, certainly not the 3000v3, so what’s Pedroia wearing on his feet? New Balance always keeps Pedroia outfitted in their freshest footwear, and this is a cleat we’ve never seen before.
In our recent podcast with three of the key players for New Balance, the 4040v4 came up in conversation, and the word is that we’ll see that cleat this year. Not long after that conversation, we noticed Pedroia’s new customs, and we think that we are looking at the upcoming 4040v4.
Pedey’s usage, considering he could wear WHATEVER HE WANTS, gives us the impression that these are New Balance’s best ever performance cleat.
We’ve seen him in white/black/red and gray/red/white.
